I'm a 3D Technical Artist from New Zealand, mostly a generalist but with my most recent specialties being in Crowds, Pipeline Dev, Rigging, and Previs. I have always had an interest in all variety of visual storytelling media, whether it be photography, film, or video games, and in crafting “theatre of the mind” stories as in tabletop role playing games.
Background
I spent 4 years as a 3D Story Artist on the "Thunderbirds Are Go" children's television series, before spending some time on pitch animation and previs work, and pipeline dev at other small studios, eventually spending 6 months on the set of Avatar 2 doing Render QC and general wrangling.
Now I’ve been at Wētā FX since 2019 and have settled into the Crowds department, where I’m able to leverage my hybrid creative/technical skillset. I’ve also been loaned to other departments as needed when workloads have fluctuated, namely to Mocap R&D to assist in Pipeline Dev tasks, and to Previs to work on shots.
